What are the Differences Between Cannabis Strains?
So the first thing you should know about the differences between cannabis strains are that there are two main types of cannabis strains: Indica and Sativa. Then there’s the third category: Hybrid.
Before you head off to your local herb collective to pick up some weed, you might want to know a little bit about each strain type, including their differences and potential benefits. It’s always good to be informed!
First off, let’s take a look at Indica.
Indica strains tend to be known for being more of a chill strain. They usually have more relaxing qualities. They are the sort of strain you might want to take at night to help you wind down versus taking it earlier and burning through your whole day. Of course, that might be something you want, so that’s something to consider, too.
Indica usually has a higher concentration of CBD in it, which comes with the potential health benefits of that. We’re talking the kind of high that can possibly help you deal with pain and anxiety, nausea, insomnia, or even loss of appetite. Many people may turn to Indica for dealing with chronic physical issues.
Sativa strains are sort of on the other end of the cannabis spectrum. They can be energizing. A lot of people take Sativa strains during the day to help you get through it. Again, though, maybe it’s the sort of high you’re looking for late at night. You do you. It’s all a personal choice. To each their own.
Sativa usually has a high concentration of THC which is what gives you that high feeling. A lot of people look to Sativa strains for treating anxiety, depression, or other types of mood disorders they may be going through.
Lastly, there’s the Hybrid strain.
This isn’t too complicated. A Hybrid strain is exactly what it sounds like: a hybrid of the Indica and Sativa strains. They can lean one way or another by being Indica dominant or Sativa dominant, or they can be a nice balance between the two.
The goal with a Hybrid strain is to give you the best of both worlds. These strains’ effects can vary depending on the mix.
